CR Grant Assist Program for local businesses

Need help applying for federal or provincial government business grants?

Campbell River businesses have a new resource to help them apply for grant funding.

The City of Campbell River has launched CR Grant Assist, a new Economic Development program to support the local business community. Participants will have the opportunity to consult with as grant writer, who will provide each participant with up to five hours of grant-writing services, at no cost.

CR Grant Assist arrives at a time when many businesses are seeking financial support to alleviate the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The federal and provincial governments have created grants to help businesses navigate the economic challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. One of the top reasons why businesses don’t access grants is that they don’t have the capacity to prepare the applications. CR Grant Assist will help provide that capacity for Campbell River businesses,” says Mayor Andy Adams.

The grant writer will work with participants to review their eligibility for grants of interest and help them create compelling proposals.

“Grants are an important source of funding for many businesses, particularly in the current economic climate,” says Rose Klukas, economic development officer at the City. “We heard from local businesses that they could benefit from having someone guide them through the application process. This inspired us to create CR Grant Assist, which is designed to be a bridge connecting interested businesses with a professional grant writer.”

CR Grant Assist is now accepting applications from Campbell River businesses, business groups, innovators and entrepreneurs. This is an ongoing program, and there is currently no deadline to apply.
