Modern Entrepreneur Workshop - Fostering a Circular Economy in Campbell River

  • Maritime Heritage Centre Campbell River, BC Canada (map)

Our world is only 8.6% circular. This means that of all products, materials, and resources in existence, only a small percentage is re-entering the economy. All other waste is either landfilled, incinerated, or left to breakdown in our waterways or on our land. In an equitable circular economy, resources and manufactured goods are designed to remain in the system through innovation, reuse and repair, redistribution, recondition and recycling processes, all of which are powered by renewable energy.

The circular economy offers significant opportunities for businesses in all sectors to reduce their environmental impact, enhance their social performance, and create green jobs for the future. Join Synergy Foundation and the City of Campbell River for a workshop exploring a vision of a thriving local circular economy and the role that entrepreneurs, businesses and consumers can play.

During the workshop we will:

· Define the circular economy and its potential

· Explore examples of circular business solutions

· Identify tangible action items and key takeaways

· Engage in meaningful dialogue with peers to advance the local circular economy

Fee for the workshop is $32.84 and includes lunch.

Lunch will be provided by Freyja Campbell River. Freyja is working with Synergy on achieving the Vancouver Island Green Business designation. Gluten free and vegetarian options available upon request. Please email leah.knutson@campbellriver.ca with dietary requests.
